"I was a person who was afraid of the ocean and heights. But
with the support of my ETC friends I kayaked in the sea, climbed
the perch at the ropes course, and rafted whitewater. The most important
thing I learned is, There is no such thing as 'I can't do it.' I
have learned to challenge myself. I now believe in myself and in
the future."."

"I'm 15 years old and from Mexico. I am visually impaired.
When I started school in the States, kids would make fun of me because
of my disability. It was hard. This year my counselor told me about
ETC's Youth Leadership School. I was nervous to apply but it felt
good when I was accepted. I gained confidence and friends on this
trip. My biggest challenge was when we hiked up a 10,000 ft. peak
in the Sierra. I am so proud I made it to the top. It was the most
incredible view imaginable: the water, the trees, the masterpiece
of God. Thank you ETC. You changed me. I feel like someone new,
but I'm still me."
