Training for new Sea Kayak Program Volunteers will begin with an evening classroom session in San Francisco on March 27, 2013. On water training will take place on April 13 & 14 with day sessions in Sausalito, and as a 4-day/3-night kayak trip to Angel Island. Kayak training will conclude with a night session in San Francisco, April 30. There is also a mandatory Disability Awareness Training held at our River Camp May 18 & 19. Whitwater guide school will take place at our river camp on the South Fork American River April 6-14. Mandatory Disability Awareness Training will also be held at our river camp May 18 & 19. Volunteers are the heart and soul of ETC, and represent diverse cultures, ages, occupations, and abilities. We provide expert training in wilderness skills, first aid, disability / diversity awareness, and environmental education. Every volunteer brings their own special talents and enthusiasm to the adventure. That is why so many of our participant groups return, year after year!
