Sea Kayaking

Group of double kayaks with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background

Enjoy sea kayaking on beautiful San Francisco Bay and beyond with Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC). Paddle stable two- and three-person kayaks, and enjoy dramatic views of Angel Island, Golden Gate Bridge, and the San Francisco skyline. Discover sea lions, pelicans, and learn local lore. ETC offers one- and multi-day trips customized to meet your needs or those of your group. No experience is necessary, and we encourage people of all abilities to paddle with us. Call or email us for 2012 dates.

San Francisco Bay Paddles
Discover local fauna while exploring the Sausalito waterfront and the Richardson Bay shoreline. After a picnic lunch, we paddle home through Sausalito’s unique houseboat community.

Angel Island Overnight Trips
This “Jewel of the Bay” is the destination for our overnight kayaking trips. Groups stay in a lovely and accessible Victorian house. We cook on a wood-burning stove and eat family-style in the formal dining room. Stunning views and marine wildlife round out this adventure in our own backyard.

Tomales Bay
Launch from Hearts Desire Beach in Tomales Bay State Park and discover the pristine waters and abundant wildlife that make this a true wilderness paddling adventure. Whether spotting bat rays and harbor seals on a one-day adventure or camping overnight and gazing at the phosphorescence off the shores of Marshall Beach, you will delight in this stunning destination.

School Field Trips
ETC offers one to five-day educational programs on Angel Island or Tomales Bay. These trips include customized curricula in marine ecology, natural and human history, leadership skills, and disability awareness.

Full Moon Dinner Paddles
Sunset over Mt. Tamalpais and the full moon rising over Angel Island make this a spectacular paddling adventure. Launching from Sausalito, we paddle to Sam’s Anchor Café in Tiburon. After a delicious dinner, we paddle home while enjoying unforgettable views of Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline. Join us on a scheduled date or arrange a private trip for a group of eight or more. Proceeds support our scholarship fund and enable people with special needs to also have thrilling adventures.

Baja Kayak Expedition (March 18-25, 2012)
